About This Project
This is a project that I refer to as Rabbit Hole. It started as a writing exercise, picking random words from the dictionary and writing about the first memory that word activated. These lengthy stories took me down a “rabbit hole” of memories and emotional triggers, and I assembled these writings as a literal “root” of what these words and definitions mean to me. These strips are paired with the “hole.” It was hard to portray the visual scale of these with images, but the text ribbons range from 8ft to 12ft and are meant to curl up when they hit the floor as if trailing off into a tangle of roots.
