About This Project
Southern Living is a popular lifestyle magazine that features home decor ideas, plans, recipes and articles geared towards southern culture and trends, In 2008, as part of a yearly Idea House promotion, where Southern Living builds and decorates featured homes, they had a private preview open house .
Knowing that these were an elite selection of individuals, I designed the invitation based on the exclusivity of the event. These dimensional pieces were created with a die-cut lock on the outside peeking in at the front of the special home. When opened the folds expose the presentation of a silk ribbon, feathering through aged bronze grommets that attached an antique key. The paper was a sturdy soft linen and the directions inserts were printed on an aged translucent velum. The overall feel was that of substantial charm and classic southern elegance.
