About This Project
I made this as an exercise to explore layering and format from a different aspect. A lot of the design in the world is “flat” meaning it is on a screen or a page of some sort. I love dimensional design in the sense that people and touch it, interact with it and explore it with more senses than just sight.
I combined different materials to achieve the look I wanted. I started with art board and incorporated mylar, translucent colored film and cut vinyl. I wanted these pieces to stand off the page so I arranged them to curl under using a slight pressure of almost being folded. The effect is flag or wave like and is really interesting in different lights the way the transparencies reflect onto the white board.
